Rev Solar Privacy Notice
Who we are
Rev Solar Power Solutions (trading as Rev Solar, 'we') collects only the personal data it needs to design, install and support your solar system. This notice explains what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and how you can use your rights.
Rev Solar is a proprietorship owned by Mohan Ram. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), we are the 'Data Fiduciary' for your data. This notice covers our website www.revsolar.in, your calls and emails with us, and the data you share during site visits and installation.

What we collect

We collect this data from you directly, not from other sources. Bank account details are sensitive personal data under the IT (SPDI) Rules, 2011, so we take them only with your written consent. Where possible we ask for masked copies of ID documents. We do not sell your data and do not use it for targeted advertising.

We do not use your data for anything else without asking you first.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with outside installers or advertisers. If Rev Solar is sold or merged, your data may pass to the new owner, who must keep following this notice. Banks, government portals and Google handle your data under their own privacy policies.
Transfers outside India
Google Analytics and Google Maps may process data on servers outside India. We send them only the data these tools need. The DPDP Act allows such transfers unless the Government of India restricts a country, and we will follow any restriction it notifies.
Cookies
Our website uses Google Analytics and Google Maps, which set cookies. We set analytics cookies only after you accept them. Our Cookie Notice lists each cookie and shows how to change your choice.
How long we keep your data

You can ask us to erase your data at any time. We will erase it unless we still need it to support your system or the law requires us to keep it, and we will tell you which data we are keeping and why. Erasing your contact details early may mean we cannot reach you for AMC or maintenance.
Security and data breaches
We protect your data with reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS on our website and password-protected access to our records, limited to staff who need them. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that data can never be accessed without permission.
If a breach affects your data, we will tell you without delay, describing what happened, what it may mean for you and what we are doing about it. We will also report it to the Data Protection Board of India, and to CERT-In where required.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian gives us a child's data, we need their verifiable consent first. We do not track or monitor children's behaviour or show them targeted ads. If we learn that we hold a child's data without that consent, we will delete it.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- Get a summary of the data we hold about you and who we shared it with.
- Correct, complete or update data that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to erase your data, subject to the retention reasons above.
- Withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent, and does not affect what we did before. After you withdraw, we stop using your data and erase it unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Have your complaint heard through our grievance process below.
- Nominate another person to use these rights for you if you die or cannot act yourself.

We will reply within 30 days of receiving your complaint. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. The DPDP Act expects you to use our grievance process first.
